why wont my nvidia graphics driver install gt740

This is my BIOS info: Vendor: American Megatrends Inc.ĥ.25'/1.2 MB floppy services are supported (int 13h)ģ.5'/720 kB floppy services are supported (int 13h)ģ.5'/2. I'm stuck and I don't know what to do more. I'm on an Ubuntu 16.04 machine and if I run lspci, graphic card is not shown it's not detected. In the device information in Ubuntu 13.10, when I select graphics it shows Intel Ivy Bridge, whereas it should show the Nvidia graphics card. Everything is working fine in Ubuntu 13.10 except the 2GB Nvidia GeForce GT 740M with Optimus graphics card. If I connect the monitor in the integrated card, it works fine. I have recently installed Ubuntu 13.10 alongside Windows 8 in my laptop. To look for instances of NVIDIA applications, open the Task Manager and look for processes.

After all services are stopped, make sure that no instance of any NVIDIA application is running.

I tryed to unistall driver, tryed to reinstall everything disable and enable it. To stop the NVIDIA Windows services, run 'services.msc' from the Run window, then find and stop all services where the service name starts with NVIDIA. I'm connecting the monitor in the VGA port and it shows 'No signal', although graphic card's fan is working, so I guess it is well plugged on the PCI. Turns out my GPU is not working correctly and windows just shuts it down. I have just installed a graphic card NVIDIA GT740 on my motherboard ASUS P8H61-M.
